The Web 2.0ERC European Union project will build simplified Web 2.0 tools for educators and will help educators use these tools in their teaching.

The Department of Social and Educational Policy focuses on the study, analysis and evaluation of the multiple dimensions of the framework within which the various educational processes are developed (i.e. the structural, organizational, functional, technological, administrative, political, economic and social). It is strategically oriented towards the development of novel methodologies on eLearning technologies and the development of digital educational media, within both formal and informal types of institutions (schools, universities, training centres, museums, NGOs, etc). It currently provides modules (e.g. ‘ICT in Education’, ‘eLearning and Distance Learning’, ‘Science-Technology-Society’, ‘Communication Theories’ etc.) as well as a Masters Degree programme on Digital Educational Media. The Department is involved in a number of national and international projects implementing ICT in education and teachers’ training on ICT in education.
